📋 Description

• Provide administrative and ancillary support to the Radiology service line • Triage, manage, and direct incoming calls from referring physicians, technologists, and radiologists in a call center environment • Monitor system communication work lists and instant messaging requests and initiate appropriate action within designated turnaround times • Report non-compliant physicians regarding Incidental Finding guidelines and escalate according to service-line processes • Communicate incidental findings and dictated exam results to ordering physicians via telephone or EPIC mail • Record physician acknowledgements and next steps in EPIC • Connect radiologists with referring physicians to facilitate timely communication of exam results • Call physicians on behalf of radiologists and fax exam reports upon request • Facilitate further exam preparation requested by radiologists • Document communication and actions taken for individual cases • Assist radiologists during downtime situations • Act as a liaison between radiologists, referring clinicians, technologists, and departmental staff • Assist with clerical tasks such as scheduling, additional phone-line triage, and work-list management • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent • Associate degree or post-secondary coursework in a healthcare-related field preferred • Experience or training in radiology or a call center preferred • Completed coursework in medical terminology preferred • Certification in medical terminology preferred • Analytical skills and judgment to interpret routine data and take appropriate action • Ability to recognize non-routine questions and direct them appropriately to radiologists • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills • Proficiency in handling complex verbal and written communication • Strong organizational skills • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and radiology information systems (RIS) • Ability to work independently • Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment • Must complete a background check before beginning employment • Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu and receive a COVID-19 booster dose
