📋 Description

• Support private sector design project delivery for industrial water and wastewater clients nationwide • Design and provide construction phase support for simple and complex discrete process-mechanical elements of environmental infrastructure projects • Lead or assist with conceptual, preliminary, and final design phases • Evaluate process and equipment options to determine suitable solutions • Prepare calculations to size and select equipment, piping, and piping ancillaries • Coordinate interdisciplinary efforts with architects, structural engineers, electrical and instrumentation and controls engineers, and building-mechanical engineers • Guide BIM professionals in creating 3D models and construction contract drawings • Review construction phase submittals • Respond to contractor requests for information and inquiries • Conduct site observations during construction • Provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to less experienced team members as needed • Execute additional assignments based on evolving needs

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of process mechanical engineering or related experience • Experience coordinating with interdisciplinary teams • Typically certified in the SMS Framework and progressing through SMS competencies • Proficient use of word processing and spreadsheet-based software tools • Intermediate understanding of process mechanical engineering principles and practices • Intermediate analytical skills in evaluating and designing processes for infrastructure projects • Basic use of process-mechanical software analysis tools • Ability to work well with interdisciplinary teams • Basic understanding of the construction process for environmental infrastructure projects • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience required • Engineer in Training (EIT) License • Preferred: 5+ years in detailed engineering design with multidisciplinary design projects • Preferred: hands-on understanding of multidisciplinary design • Preferred: experience with private sector water, wastewater, or infrastructure design • Preferred: detailed process mechanical design for water and wastewater treatment processes, including membrane filtration, aerobic/anaerobic biological systems, biosolids handling, chemical precipitation, liquid storage, and pumping systems • Decisiveness and ability to make timely decisions • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, including comfort dealing directly with clients • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
