📋 Description

• Facilitate an active virtual learning classroom for Human & Social Services courses • Prepare assigned courses in Blackboard with required elements by the deadline • Provide approximately 12–14 hours per week of instruction over five days per course • Facilitate discussions with substantive posts, higher-order questions, and supplemental resources • Respond to students, supervisors, and colleagues within 48 hours • Respond to all students’ initial discussion posts within the designated weekly timeframe • Grade student work using rubrics and provide detailed, individualized feedback • Maintain the grade book and enter or revert zeroes according to weekly deadlines • Grade late work during the next grading cycle • Meet final-grade deadlines • Conduct retention outreach, monitor at-risk students, communicate with students and advisors, and document outreach • Apply active learning strategies, authentic assessment, APA guidelines, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and the Seven Principles for Good Practice • Comply with ADA accommodations and plagiarism policies • Encourage electronic portfolio use and participation in student surveys/faculty evaluations • Attend required live and asynchronous faculty meetings • Maintain current disciplinary and distance-education knowledge through professional development • Participate in campus-wide retention and persistence initiatives • Complete required workshops and seminars • Follow college policies and procedures • Serve as a Bryant & Stratton College brand ambassador • Collaborate with full-time faculty to improve classroom performance and curriculum • Submit course support tickets for errors, updates, or ideas

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work or Human Services • PhD preferred • At least 2 years of online teaching experience • Three years’ experience in education at the college level within the last ten years • Expertise in the areas taught • Instruction in educational theory • Demonstrated leadership, integrity, ethical practice, problem solving, conflict management/resolution, adaptability, creativity, and sensitivity to diversity • Willingness to self-assess, take feedback, and incorporate results into practice • Ability to recognize and proactively address opportunities and challenges • Documented management experience in an educational setting • Proven administrative, evaluative, analytical, strategic thinking, and organizational skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet applications • Proficiency with technologies currently used in the Nursing profession • Ability to function within college, state, federal, and accrediting/approval agency regulations, policies, and procedures • Ability to use technology required to facilitate online courses • Ability to stand or sit stationary and occasionally lift, carry, push, or move objects up to 10 pounds • Ability to receive information and convey detailed instructions or ideas accurately • Resume/CV, unofficial transcripts, at least three professional references with phone numbers and email addresses, cover letter, copies of license, teaching philosophy, and signed job description required
