📋 Description

• Manage Infection Prevention and Control activities under the guidance of the Manager of Infection Prevention • Coordinate and support implementation of a system-wide infection control and prevention program • Identify, prevent, and eliminate or reduce sources of infection • Implement and monitor processes to reduce hospital-associated infections • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and local, state, and federal regulatory requirements • Apply epidemiologic principles, statistical methods, and risk stratification to identify target populations and analyze trends and risk factors • Perform surveillance using NHSN criteria and investigate hospital-associated infections through clinical record, laboratory, isolation, consultation, post-discharge, and autopsy review • Use computer-based programs for tracking, reporting, and disseminating surveillance information • Prepare statistical reports to identify and analyze infection trends • Investigate, document, and report infection control issues and outbreaks • Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives • Participate in environmental rounds and construction risk assessments and provide infection prevention interventions • Provide expert IPC and epidemiology guidance using evidence-based practice, policies, procedures, and regulatory standards • Collaborate with Employee Health on communicable disease exposures and follow-up • Educate health care providers, staff, patients, families, and the public on HAI and IPC measures • Mentor and collaborate with facility personnel and other healthcare professionals • Collaborate in fiscal management by evaluating infection prevention technology and products

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or healthcare-related field required • Master’s degree in Nursing or healthcare-related field preferred • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within 3 years • Completion of advanced education in Infection Prevention at the time of hire preferred • 2 years of experience in direct patient care or a related healthcare field preferred • Infection control/prevention experience preferred • Knowledge of improvement science • Ability to lead and facilitate multidisciplinary teams • Experience in performance improvement • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint • Strong analytical skills • In-depth knowledge of computer systems and software programs • Ability to work independently and self-directed • Attention to detail • Critical thinking • Communication with all levels of professionals • Teamwork • Conflict resolution • Active listening • Relationship building
