• Coordinate planning for contractors and craft activities on a utility-scale solar site • Ensure high-quality installation of electrical project portions, including underground cabling, mod-to-mod wiring, combiner box terminations, and DC collection systems • Review drawings, constructability, submittals, and feedback with the engineering team • Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship conform to contract documents and specifications • Work with the Site Manager and owner’s Project Manager on project schedules and updates • Supervise the work team and ensure quality control • Manage the interface for connecting project power grids to existing transmission systems • Attend project meetings and liaise between engineers, contractors, and craft workers • Establish and nurture teamwork within the project team • Maintain relationships with site visitors, customers, and contractors • Review logistics and provide improvement suggestions • Monitor contractor procurement of electrical resources, methods, staffing, look-ahead schedules, and coordination with site activities • Ensure plans, specifications, submittals, and RFIs are accurately and promptly transmitted to subcontractors • Monitor contractor safety, quality, and efficiency • Ensure owner-supplied subcontract crews have resources and support • Work on a 100% travel rotational schedule of 3 weeks on and 6 days off, Thursday through Tuesday
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience • Proficiency in installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of DC and medium voltage cables • Knowledge of current injection, Hi-pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble, and other cable and equipment testing methods • Working knowledge of electrical drawings, sketches, prints, underground duct banks, trenching, manholes and vaults for collection systems, underground and pad mount transformer usage, and SCADA systems used in the power industry • Current, valid state driver’s license and clean driving record • Ability to travel as required • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check; additional drug screens may be required based on job responsibility • LOTO safety procedures and implementation • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to manage shifting priorities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to interact with contractors positively and effectively • Regular, reliable, and predictable performance • Ability to work collaboratively with others • A minimum of 3 years of Renewable (Wind, Solar, Battery) experience • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs; work in confined spaces and near loud equipment • Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50 pounds regularly/occasionally • Ability to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 pounds • Ability to wear personal protective gear most of the day • Ability to work in cold environments and on concrete floors • Ability to traverse irregular and steep terrain • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in excessive heat, cold, extreme weather, humidity, dampness, noise, slippery or uneven surfaces, and around machinery, vehicles, heavy equipment, and others
