• Perform QA/QC inspections of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and structural components • Perform building assessment projects such as data aggregation, equipment bar coding, housing data collection, parking lot studies, and surveys • Conduct walk-through surveys of building equipment, systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exterior walls, windows, roofs, and pavement • Collect data from equipment plates for web-based systems; photograph equipment and tags; evaluate equipment condition; apply bar codes • Gather photographic documentation and record site and building observations • Review plans, construction documents, scopes of work, property records, maintenance reports, inspection reports, warranties, and repair/improvement costs • Progress to more complex assessments such as Property Condition Assessments, ADA checklists, and environmental data collection after training and on-site experience • Prepare written reports describing findings according to ASTM standards using computers, iPads, and other software • Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and standards including ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME • Communicate inspection results and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to maintain inspection consistency and quality control • Maintain project communication with senior management regarding issues and potential problems • Meet productivity and report-quality objectives • Provide timely customer service and proactive solutions to client needs • Follow company policies, SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards • Travel extensively to client/project sites, including deployments of up to three continuous weeks
• High school diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required; some college preferred • Minimum of 3 years related experience • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables • Time management, active listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills • Oral and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely • Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service • Valid driver's license required with no significant motor vehicle report points/violations • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including walking, standing, climbing, crawling, lifting up to 40 pounds, and operating electronic devices • Ability to successfully work from a remote location • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle with passengers • Travel by plane, motor vehicle, and train to client sites across the U.S.; 75–90% travel required • Overnight stays away from home required during deployments
