📋 Description

• Act as Lead Engineer over protection & controls projects for medium to high voltage utility substations • Provide training on electromechanical relays, microprocessor-based relays, and related protection & controls topics • Develop engineering cost estimates for proposals • Oversee equipment specifications, bid evaluations, and procurement recommendations • Develop protection & control design submittals, including bills of materials, one-line diagrams, AC three-line diagrams, DC schematics, communication diagrams, SCADA integration, cabling, wiring, and panel front views • Work with physical layouts of major equipment and verify phasing • Perform quality control checking of protection & control deliverables • Prepare complex engineering calculations using standard methods and principles • Collect, assimilate, and manage engineering data • Prepare contract documents, project documents, and studies with little to no supervision • Adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements • Understand project phases, schedules, and schedule recovery related to engineering production and deliverables • Understand client interests and drivers through project-related client contact and interaction with project leadership • Support Business Development with technical information for sales proposals and other assigned activities • Continue developing knowledge of design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and company policies and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program required • 4+ years of related protection and controls experience • Familiarity with engineering concepts, practices, and procedures • Experience with electromechanical relays and microprocessor-based relays • FE, EIT, or PE licensure preferred • Engineer in Training certification preferred • Knowledge of departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and company policies and procedures
