📋 Description

• Develop and maintain enterprise-wide record retention policies and procedures aligned with federal, state, and organizational standards • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to organizational practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risk • Advise leadership and departments on retention strategies, compliance issues, and operational improvements as a subject matter expert • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Data Governance teams to establish and enforce retention schedules and destruction protocols • Lead initiatives to improve record management processes, including technology enhancements and vendor oversight • Determine retention timelines, destruction schedules, and compliance strategies using independent judgment • Monitor and audit retention practices for adherence to organizational and regulatory standards • Provide training and guidance to staff on record retention policies and compliance requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Associate’s degree required or equivalent experience • Minimum of 4 years in Health Information Management, compliance, or related regulatory roles • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory requirements for health information management • Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to organizational policies • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Occasional travel for compliance audits and vendor oversight • Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred • Experience in policy development and enterprise compliance programs preferred
