📋 Description

• Collaborate with Coding Leadership, IT leadership, Organizational Development, Revenue Cycle leadership, Compliance leadership, and other teams • Present coding and documentation education through in-person classes and virtual offerings for coders and clinicians • Support development of coding educational presentations, tools, and documents • Identify, trend, and report coder educational needs • Develop and provide one-on-one, follow-up, and refresher coding education sessions • Apply adult learning concepts to education and training • Maintain education and training schedules • Use Learning Connection, ATMS, Skype, or Teams to schedule presentations • Communicate educational offerings in a standardized manner • Develop and maintain web-based coding education programs • Assign lessons, report results, track progress, and identify further education needs • Evaluate educational offerings and training programs and modify them as appropriate • Recommend course content, technology, and instructional delivery options • Create educational programs with established objectives • Support e-learning development and technology-based learning initiatives • Ensure programs have defined learning objectives, accurate and complete content, and proper documentation • Research, write, and create learner manuals and facilitator guides • Provide train-the-trainer sessions for Coding Supervisors and Coding Leads • Provide updates and additional train-the-trainer sessions as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Coding certification from an approved certifying body, including AAPC, AHIMA, or other listed certifying organizations • Required certification options include CCA, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, SCP, CPC-I, and Specialty Medical Coding Certification • Advanced training beyond high school through an accredited or approved Medical Coding Specialist program • Typically 5 years of medical coding experience, including physician revenue cycle processes and health information workflows • Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology • Expert knowledge of adult learning concepts • Ability to plan, coordinate, and facilitate coding educational programs • Highly proficient in online and in-person teaching methods • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office or similar products, email, and electronic calendars • Superior verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills • Ability to speak comfortably to small and large groups, network, and build effective relationships • Adaptability and flexibility; ability to coordinate multiple tasks • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment and decision-making • Ability to work in virtual, office, clinic/hospital, and other environments • Functional speech, hearing, and senses for effective communication • Ability to continuously concentrate • Ability to travel and potentially work around road and weather hazards • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
