• Provide coding and billing compliance education to physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and clinical service auxiliary providers • Improve workflow and clinical documentation practices • Communicate coding and billing information to administrative and finance leaders • Assist with evaluation and management and billing code utilization reports • Provide subject matter expertise on documentation, coding, and compliant charge capture • Develop and train practitioners on coding, documentation, and charge capture content • Collaborate with Physician Leaders, Practice Leaders, Compliance, Legal, and Finance on coding initiatives • Provide continuous education and feedback regarding coding and billing practices and regulatory requirements • Develop and implement educational content using adult education principles, including blended and e-learning materials • Launch training materials, monitor participation, and report learning outcomes • Develop training strategies and action plans for risk adjustment targets • Analyze reports, billing and denial data, claims errors, coding trends, and documentation gaps • Educate providers during onboarding and support coding audits and coding reviews • Perform shadowing services to improve workflow and charge selection accuracy • Monitor coding resources and payer updates • Develop tools and training materials to support regulatory compliance and revenue capture • Review encounter forms and billing tools and recommend code or layout changes
• 5 years of experience in teaching professional coding education and compliance documentation • Advanced knowledge and experience interpreting and applying federal/government regulations to ensure coding and documentation compliance • High school diploma or equivalent • Minimum of one certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), or Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based (CCS-P) • Strong knowledge of complete and accurate clinical documentation in all healthcare settings and disciplines • Strong knowledge of classification and reimbursement systems, including ICD-10, diagnosis-related group, and all patient refined diagnosis-related group • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, computers, and encoding software • Teaching and presentation skills • Ability to work with physicians and senior leaders • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
