📋 Description

• Assist a faculty member with tasks related to a research project • Research relevant legal source materials • Conduct reviews of relevant academic literature • Analyze data • Draft and edit articles and books for scholarly publication • Conduct case coding • Review formatting and citations • Support faculty research activities • Report to Dr. Jamillah Bowman Williams • Work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or enrollment in an undergraduate degree program • Demonstrated interest in legal research, law, public policy, or a related field • Strong research and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in an academic research environment • Proficiency with standard office and research tools (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) • Willingness to learn legal research databases and data management systems • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a research team • Prior research experience in an academic, policy, or legal setting (preferred) • Experience conducting literature reviews or legal research using academic journals, policy reports, or legal databases such as Westlaw or LexisNexis (preferred) • Familiarity with legal citation formats such as Bluebook or experience editing academic or legal writing (preferred) • Experience supporting data collection, qualitative research, or policy analysis (preferred) • Interest in pursuing law school, graduate study, or a career in law, legal scholarship, or public policy (preferred)
