📋 Description

• Implement and execute post-award and financial management activities for grants, contracts, and/or clinical trials • Support Allegheny-Singer Research Institute and Allegheny Health Network • Set up awards and process transactions • Conduct compliance reviews, cash management, collections, financial reporting, and project close-out • Ensure material accuracy of financial statements and reports • Analyze financial results, outcomes, trends, projections, and performance metrics; provide root cause analysis • Maintain compliance with allowable costs, period of performance, subrecipient monitoring, cost share, program income, effort reporting, special test provisions, invoicing, cash management, and clinical trial billing requirements • Maintain and evaluate post-award business processes • Understand payment terms and schedules; invoice promptly and follow up on outstanding payments • Record cash against programs and troubleshoot payment variances and sponsor queries • Set up and work within sponsor portals for payment profiles, invoices, and payment backup • Prepare journal entries and support month-end close and monthly financial statements/reports • Ensure transactions comply with GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and institutional policies • Prepare financial reports, address discrepancies, correct errors, and meet internal and sponsor deadlines • Translate and report financials on sponsor-required forms; prepare ad hoc reports and analyses • Complete accurate project close-out documentation, resolve outstanding obligations, and close project cost centers • Implement and document internal controls, policies, and procedures; gather audit documentation • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree • Knowledge of accounting principles, budget planning, and financial analysis • Ability to interpret and apply fiscal regulations • Ability to assess, research, and resolve complex financial and compliance issues • Deep understanding of financial management in a clinical trial setting • Expertise in research accounting • Strong background in compliance and auditing • Prior experience in grant, contract and clinical trial financial administration (preferred) • Knowledge of federal agency regulations, policies, and procedures, Uniform Guidance, laws and federal acquisition regulations applicable to research and sponsored programs (preferred) • Prior experience with clinical trial financial management and/or clinical research billing compliance and regulations (preferred) • Organizational and mathematical skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to work independently, prioritize, manage large volumes of work, and meet tight deadlines • Proficiency in financial software • Understanding of financial processes, controls, and reconciliations • Proficiency with MS Excel, including sorting, pivot tables, filtering, lookups, subtotals, and basic formulas • Ability to interpret and implement complex regulations, procedures, and compliance standards • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion • Compliance with HIPAA, data security guidelines, Code of Business Conduct, applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and training requirements
