📋 Description

• Manage daily operations of accounting and reporting functions • Manage, review and ensure timely, accurate completion and presentation of internal and external financial statements, including regulatory financial statements • Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to help predict future revenues and expenses • Review and approve internal/external payment requests for contracted arrangements • Evaluate and recommend improvements to internal accounting processes • Maintain internal controls for related entities consistent with Model Audit Rule (MAR) requirements • Lead audits and ensure compliance with audit and reporting functions • Research legislation, financial accounting standards and NAIC statutory requirements; document impacts, accounting requirements, journal entries, financial reporting presentation and disclosures in compliance with GAAP, STAT and/or other external reporting • Identify and oversee accounting requirements for new programs or program changes • Assist with implementation of new accounting-related systems • Ensure on-time filing of internal and external financial reports • Review ad-hoc information requests, schedules and analyses • Manage departmental staff and provide performance management and goal evaluation to direct reports • Safeguard the Company’s financial assets through fiduciary responsibility • Perform other duties as requested

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent work experience required • Six (6) years of related experience in accounting/finance required • Familiarity with accounting concepts, practices and procedures • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT) • Ability to lead and direct the work of others, including development, motivation and rewarding of staff • Independent judgment, decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills • Critical thinking/listening skills • Ability to interact with all levels of management and external audit management • Knowledge of internal control framework • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office • Business-related post-graduate degree preferred • Previous management experience preferred • Managed care or healthcare experience preferred • Experience in a large ERP system preferred • CPA or other equivalent certification preferred • May be required to travel occasionally
