📋 Description

• Prepare and file HUD/FHA home retention claims according to investor, insurer, and CMS guidelines • Follow up semi-daily on outstanding claim proceeds • Reconcile final claim proceeds against claimed amounts, paid amounts, outstanding loan indebtedness, escrow, and corporate advances • Correct error files by cancelling claims and/or processing refund requests to HUD • Provide posting instructions for claim proceeds within 24 hours of receipt • Review, follow up, and ensure timely and accurate completion of scheduled steps • Input completion dates when actions occur and modify scheduled dates with approval when necessary • Perform daily routine follow-up • Keep the Supervisor informed of claim denials, curtailments, processing delays, and other trends or problems • Document servicing, actions, delays, follow-up, and phone conversations in system notes • Ensure claim documents are imaged timely • Maintain and control the HUD audit file • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience; some college preferred • One (1) to two (2) years’ mortgage servicing default experience preferred • Previous FHA claims experience preferred • Understanding of the loss mitigation and claims process • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and time management skills • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability • Strong interpersonal skills focused on teamwork and quality in loan evaluation • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and changing priorities • Ability to understand opposing viewpoints on complex issues and negotiate and integrate different viewpoints • Ability to make decisions with moderate impact on the immediate work unit • Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule on a short-term basis • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and record, balance, and check results for accuracy • Ability to compose detailed reports, work-related manuals, and limited-scope publications • Ability to meet strict deadlines
