Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and a broad network of public-, private-, and community-sector organizations to advance public health locally and globally. Since 1995 it has supported high-impact programs and projects (including emergency responses, global health initiatives, workforce services, maternal/newborn NEST kits, and community health programs), mobilizes funding and partners, and runs fundraising and donor-engagement activities to support research, program delivery, and emergency response. 📋 Description

• Drive delivery of data modernization projects that improve public health data use for decision making • Develop and maintain data modernization workplans, detailed project plans, timelines, and project documentation • Manage project deliverables within scope, deadlines, and budget • Develop and execute data communication, data training, and data modernization initiative evaluation plans • Support enterprise-wide data maturity assessments through surveys and focus groups • Develop data modernization impact-analysis evaluation plans and assist with data maturity roadmap implementation • Establish measurable metrics to evaluate data modernization activities and impact • Organize recurring meetings with internal and external data stakeholders to review progress, address concerns, and identify data needs and gaps • Organize data modernization advisory committee meetings • Collaborate with the data modernization core team to execute the workplan • Implement change-management strategies with business analysts and stakeholders • Define roles and responsibilities and ensure standards and best practices are followed • Coordinate with users, technical teams, and vendors to meet implementation timelines • Document business practices and workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and support process improvement • Communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management • Facilitate communication among project team members, business analysts, and stakeholders • Create dashboards and generate reports • Develop and implement change-management strategies supporting adoption of data modernization activities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, public health, information systems, operations management or related field required • Master’s degree or other related advanced degree in a related field preferred • Minimum of 10 years of related experience leading data management projects • Expert knowledge of project management fundamentals, including developing and implementing work plans, schedules, staffing plans, and budgets in an agile or iterative environment • Proficiency in Smartsheet, Confluence, SharePoint and/or other project management tools and techniques • Experience in change management and risk management principles and processes • Excellent communication skills for describing difficult technical problems and solutions to technical and non-technical teams • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external partners • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills • Experience working in a virtual environment with remote partners and teams • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Knowledge of data management, data governance and change management • PMP Certification or equivalent preferred • Must be based in the United States • Must routinely be available during core department business hours to collaborate with Illinois Department of Public Health staff
