📋 Description

• Act as a Team Lead and resource for all Reimbursement Specialists within the rare disease program. • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of rare disease program offerings, including disease and product pathophysiology, therapeutic areas, disease processes, mechanisms of action, and rare disease SOPs. • Apply knowledge of public, private, and federal funding mechanisms and rare disease funding bodies in the United States and Canada. • Coordinate cases with physicians, healthcare professionals, insurance companies, and physician offices to maximize reimbursement solutions. • Prepare submissions that meet criteria established by public and private payers. • Navigate the lobbying process to obtain prescription drug coverage and reimbursement. • Apply financial means tests to maximize patients’ prescription drug coverage. • Coordinate pharmacy processes after funding is obtained. • Communicate daily and continuously with the Program Manager or Associate Program Manager regarding projects. • Evaluate, develop, maintain, and implement reimbursement processes and protocols. • Implement, monitor, and evaluate departmental KPIs. • Manage Closing Manager schedules and shifts. • Provide sales training related to product reimbursement, as appropriate. • Report adverse events to the relevant departments. • Perform other duties and tasks as required.

🎯 Requirements

• At least three years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry. • Experience in IT project management is an asset. • University degree in a related field. • University bachelor’s degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related industry. • Four (4) years of experience in public or private third-party reimbursement, pharmaceutical sales, a hospital or physician’s office setting, managed care, clinical support, or a related field. • A minimum of three years of experience in a Senior Reimbursement Specialist role. • Experience in rare diseases may also be required. • Ability to lead a team and provide direction. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with patients in a healthcare setting about highly sensitive topics. • Professional, courteous, and efficient telephone manner. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. • Proven ability to organize time, set priorities, and multitask to meet competing deadlines. • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. • Strong attention to detail. • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset. • Customer service experience is an asset. • Experience with reimbursement programs is also an asset. • Experience in the insurance industry is also an asset. • Advanced knowledge of the pharmaceutical or insurance industry. • Strong business and financial acumen. • Strong analytical and mathematical skills. • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills. • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to consistently meet deadlines. • Excellent problem-solving skills.
