• Translate complex electoral, organizing, and network capacity-building work into compelling narratives rooted in racial and economic justice and progressive values • Produce and steward powerful content across email, social, web, press materials, and toolkits — including copywriting, graphic design, and video editing • Ensure quality and narrative alignment across all communications materials; manage consultants and vendors for specialized needs • Execute digital acquisition of new supporters, digital volunteer recruitment, and communications strategy across email, SMS, organic and paid social, and web – supporting clear pathways from first contact to active engagement • Support grassroots fundraising campaigns • Manage channel analytics and campaign infrastructure to track performance and strengthen outcomes over time • Work closely with the Organizing, Field, and Fundraising teams as well as the Digital Organizing and Communications Director to integrate digital strategy with the overall organizing ladder and on-the-ground needs • Manage a team of super volunteers and possible additional staff through coaching, clear delegation, and accountability structures • Lead and inform strategic organizational and network-wide communications across programs and initiatives for a range of audiences – funders, movement allies, and network partners • Build and maintain organizational communications infrastructure – including CRM setup and management across programs (email templates, tagging, editorial calendaring as needed), a writing and content directory, and branded materials oversight – as part of strategic communications planning across the organization • Support documentation of CEP(EF)’s research and movement learning work – including direct engagement with source material through convenings, interviews, and field spaces, and serving as a communications thought partner from the earliest stages of research design – and lead post-production and distribution strategy to ensure learnings reach the right audiences effectively • Work closely with the Development and Research & Learning teams as well as program teams to integrate narrative and communications within organizational programs and strategies • Provide communications and digital organizing coaching, technical assistance, and training to network partner organizations primarily organizing in working-class communities of color • Design and facilitate peer learning circles, cohorts, and training spaces that build field-wide narrative, communications, and digital organizing praxis and capacity
• 5+ years of progressive digital organizing and strategic communications experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role managing staff and strategy • Proven track record in high-impact email and organic social strategy across electoral, advocacy, or base-building contexts • Fluency in both electoral campaign environments and movement/advocacy communications • Experience building and leading narrative strategy, including facilitating tools and frameworks with partners • Strong writing, editing, and message discipline across audiences and formats -- including email writing for volunteer mobilization and fundraising • Strong graphic design skills, with demonstrated ability to produce compelling collateral independently (Canva, Adobe Suite) • Proficiency with CRMs and web analytics, with preference for experience in Solidarity Tech, Action Network, and/or EveryAction • Strong project management skills; able to prioritize across multiple workstreams with high attention to detail • Self-motivated, proactive communicator with sound judgment and high emotional intelligence • Demonstrated experience working in close partnership with working-class BIPOC leaders and grassroots organizations rooted in working-class communities of color • Experience advancing some or all of the following strategies: building broad coalitions across political perspectives, volunteer-led organizing, and face-to-face persuasion and mobilization conversations
