📋 Description

• Assemble, analyze, and maintain medical records according to established procedures • Ensure medical records are complete before closing discharged patient records • Obtain physician signatures for certifications and orders in a timely manner • Report incomplete recertifications three days before the end of the Benefit Period • Follow HIM policies and procedures set by the Director of HIM & Coding • Scan and index paper documents according to a predetermined file layout • Request prior medical records from hospitals and physicians as indicated • File and scan medical record documentation, ensuring patient names and numbers correlate to charts • Monitor documentation returns until charts are complete and escalate unresolved chart deficiencies • Maintain patient confidentiality • Perform other duties as requested

🎯 Requirements

• High School or GED • Up to one (1) year of office experience, preferably in a medical setting • Health Information Management Certificate or HIT PRO Certificate preferred • Excellent organization and communication skills • Ability to navigate EHR easily • Knowledge of medical record format and content • Detail oriented • Ability to bend and reach overhead • Satisfactorily complete competency requirements • Consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment • Meet ongoing Drug-Free Workplace Policy requirements • For services performed for Florida affiliates, pass Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse eligibility verification after a conditional offer and maintain ongoing eligibility
