📋 Description

• Report directly to a senior AI & Data Science Team Member • Develop predictive models using Azure tools such as Microsoft Fabric and Azure ML Studio • Write data preparation and analysis routines in Python using pandas and scikit-learn • Participate in dataset design and statistical modeling discussions • Integrate process control solutions with data science models • Design and deploy GenAI solutions and applications into production enterprise environments • Collaborate on full-stack development for small applications and efficient UI/UX workflows • Apply and share best practices for designing and delivering GenAI hybrid search • Evaluate and improve GenAI model accuracy for extracting chemical property information from literature • Enhance accuracy and relevance metrics for hybrid search and RAG models used for Operations and Safety procedures • Evaluate machine-learning approaches for predicting chemical properties • Gather UX requirements and build front-end/UI applications using React, Flask, or Streamlit • Design multi-agent systems that divide complex user requests into actionable subtasks • Work on real-life business problems across R&D, Finance, Manufacturing, Legal, and Environment/Safety functions

🎯 Requirements

• Enrollment at an accredited college or university pursuing or having recently completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, or Post-Doctoral degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering, Computational Chemistry, or a very similar field • 2+ years of programming experience with Python, including pandas and scikit-learn • 1+ year practical experience in data science building predictive ML models, including feature selection and engineering, model selection and hyperparameter tuning, data cleansing, and data analysis; typical use cases involve time-series data and/or chemical properties • OR 1+ year practical experience developing GenAI applications using RAG, hybrid search, and building UI for applications • Fast learner and strong collaborator, who can work efficiently with high output • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to a non-technical audience • Must not be enrolled in coursework at the same time as interning • Must be able to comfortably work 8am–5pm East Coast Time • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred • Enterprise experience and experience deploying apps and GenAI agents into production using Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS is preferred • Immigration sponsorship (including H-1B, F-1 OPT, TN, or other non-immigrant status) is not currently available
