📋 Description

• Facilitate high-quality, participatory safeguarding learning with rugby organisations and stakeholders • Support participants to translate safeguarding frameworks and principles into practical organisational action • Facilitate sensitive safeguarding discussions in a safe, respectful and appropriate manner • Support implementation planning and follow-up with participating organisations • Work within ChildFund Rugby's agreed safeguarding methodology, materials and facilitator boundaries • Deliver safeguarding facilitation in English and/or French according to language capabilities and assigned activities • Complete ChildFund Rugby facilitator preparation and training before safeguarding delivery • Familiarise with relevant safeguarding frameworks, policies, procedures, resources, facilitation guides, presentations and implementation tools • Participate in practice facilitation and scenario discussions where required • Coordinate roles and responsibilities with other facilitators before delivery • Facilitate assigned activities, discussions and scenarios; support breakout discussions and participation • Help organisations apply safeguarding principles, identify realistic actions and priorities, and address implementation barriers • Monitor questions, identify matters requiring clarification or technical follow-up, and escalate appropriately • Support organisations after learning sessions by reviewing action plans, reporting arrangements, risk assessments, service maps and implementation outputs • Complete assigned implementation support calls and document progress, actions and follow-up matters • Create a respectful and psychologically safe learning environment • Follow safeguarding reporting procedures when information suggests someone may currently be at risk • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and avoid requesting unnecessary details of identifiable safeguarding cases • Do not investigate concerns or provide legal, investigative, counselling or specialist advice outside the role or expertise • Provide required session documentation and participate in facilitator debriefs • Report to the ChildFund Rugby Training Experience Coordinator and coordinate with ChildFund Rugby and other facilitators

🎯 Requirements

• Experience facilitating learning, workshops or group discussions • Experience working with participants from different organisational and cultural contexts • Experience supporting participatory learning and practical implementation • Fluent working ability in English and/or French according to assigned delivery • Willingness and availability to complete ChildFund Rugby safeguarding facilitator preparation and training • Previous safeguarding, child protection or safe sport experience is highly desirable • Experience within rugby or another sport environment is desirable • Experience working with National Federations, Unions or sports governance organisations is desirable • Experience facilitating virtually is desirable • Strong facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to facilitate sensitive discussions safely and respectfully • Ability to ask questions and support participants to develop practical solutions rather than simply providing answers • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a facilitation team • Ability to recognise the boundaries of the facilitator role and escalate technical or safeguarding matters appropriately • Ability to adapt facilitation to different organisational and cultural contexts • Strong judgement, professionalism and commitment to safeguarding principles • Required to comply with and sign a Code of Conduct covering safeguarding and prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, ethical labour standards, and modern slavery prevention • Required to have relevant background and/or criminal checks • Subject to DFAT and National Security Australia list screening at the onset of any financial relationship
