Circular Action Alliance is an organization working to create a circular economy for paper and packaging. It coordinates producer-funded recycling programs, submits program plans under extended producer responsibility laws (for example SB 54 in California), and invests in recycling access and responsible end markets. The organization provides resources for producers (registration, producer resource center, fee-setting consultation, steering committee) and is active in multiple U. S. states including California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Maine, Maryland and Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Responsible for all day-to-day financial accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Invoicing and Collections, Payments to State & Local authorities, Bank Accounts Maintenance and Bank Accounts Reconciliation and Cash Management • Establish all Financial Accounting policies and processes including training and job aid development/management • Lead month-end, quarter-end, year-end accounting close • Ensure all books are closed in time and financial information is available to senior leaders on time • Overall leader for the Financial Reporting activities • Own the Financial ERP system • Lead all regulatory (State and Federal) reporting requirements • Responsible for designing, developing, recruitment and managing a large organization of accountants • Understand, design and develop appropriate internal controls and risk management policies

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance • CPA required • Non-profit experience highly recommended • At least 10+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience • Through knowledge of accounting principles and procedures • Good knowledge of internal controls, risk management and mitigation and ability to pivot to critical priorities • Experience creating, analyzing, reporting financial statements • Experience with Workday Financials highly preferred • In absence of Workday Financials, strong experience across other financial systems and ability to quickly understand and master Workday Financials • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
