📋 Description

• Coordinate and develop coverage analyses and budgets for industry-sponsored and non-industry-sponsored clinical trials and amendments • Liaise between external sponsors and City of Hope departments to determine coverage justifications and cost allocations • Work with Principal Investigators and study teams to finalize budgets and obtain approvals • Negotiate budgets with clinical trial sponsors for cost efficiency • Track, enter, maintain, and review financial data from clinical trial agreements and budgets in the OnCore Clinical Trial Management System • Draft, finalize, and gain approval of coverage analyses and budgets while tracking data metrics • Document qualifying clinical trial status, research coverage limitations, medical necessity, and costs for clinical and non-clinical trial components • Understand clinical trial protocols to determine coding and charge determinations • Enter and review financial data in OnCore and initiate the OnCore calendar/financial console sign-off process • Review protocol amendments and update coverage analyses and budgets • Perform critical assessment projects to confirm funding sources and ensure guideline-consistent negotiations • Analyze coverage analyses and budgets to establish precedent pricing and improve drafting techniques • Assess comparable projects by study phase or disease type for appropriate costing • Analyze protocols, letters of intent, and synopses to determine coverage analysis/budget needs and prioritization

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience • Three years of related budget experience in research administration, a Contract Research Organization, pharma or biotech industry, a medical or clinical practice arena, or health insurance industry • Working knowledge of clinical trials • Familiarity with HCPCS / CPT codes • Understanding of standard of care/routine care versus research-related costs in clinical trials • Familiarity with Medicare regulations, guidelines, and policies • Working knowledge of medical terminology specific to oncology clinical trials • Knowledge of general study budgeting techniques and coverage analysis techniques
