📋 Description

• Code clinical documentation across dermatology and orthopedics using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II codes • Code dermatology procedures including biopsies, destructions, Mohs, and excisions • Code orthopedic visits and procedures as needed • Apply specialty-specific and global surgery modifiers within NCCI edits • Validate provider notes and E/M levels for office visits and procedure-heavy encounters • Identify incomplete or ambiguous documentation and communicate directly with practice managers and physicians • Research and resolve complex coding-related denials across major payers • Use approved AI tools to draft stronger appeals • Navigate client EHR and practice management systems • Identify recurring documentation errors and payer trends • Recommend operational improvements to reduce revenue delays • Support account managers across specialties and learn new specialties and workflows as the company grows

🎯 Requirements

• Active AAPC credential • 1 to 2 years of medical coding experience • Strong dermatology expertise • Orthopedic coding experience is a major plus • Ability to code ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II • Knowledge of specialty-specific and global surgery modifiers 25, 59, XE, XS, XP, and XU • Knowledge of NCCI edits • Ability to validate provider notes against current E/M leveling guidelines • Experience researching and resolving complex coding-related denials • Familiarity with major payers • Fluency with ModMed (EMA), EZDERM, Nextech, eCW, and other EHR and practice management platforms • Ability to use or actively learn AI tools for work • Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
