📋 Description

• Counsel patients and responsible parties regarding insurance benefits, financial responsibilities, payment options, financial assistance, and collection procedures • Recommend alternative sources of payment and financial assistance • Contact insurance carriers or other sources and advocate for patients • Initiate collection of prepays due and perform follow-up to maximize collection • Identify and resolve issues related to registration, financial clearance, insurance authorization, billing, explanations of benefits, provider-based billing, governmental requirements, HCAP/FAP policies and restrictions, MyAccount, and collections • Update and correctly document information in appropriate computer systems • Scan letters of agreement and send clinical clearance notifications • Support the transplant area and assist uninsured patients or patients whose insurance is not accepted at Cleveland Clinic

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and three years of experience in a customer-facing role with in-person or phone contact • OR Associate’s Degree and two years of experience • OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience • Candidates must reside in NE Ohio area • Ability to operate CRT/PC and other office equipment • Ability to sit and be stationary for prolonged periods of time • Normal or corrected vision • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer • Compliance with standard precautions and required personal protective equipment • Required to comply with Cleveland Clinic’s influenza prevention program, including annual influenza vaccination or an approved exemption • Offers of employment are followed by testing for controlled substances
