📋 Description

• Implement project infrastructure and systems supporting projects and company strategic objectives • Lead cradle-to-grave project finance operations, including startup, closeout, cost management, account reconciliation, reporting, analysis, and donor compliance • Lead project financial reporting and analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and country-office month- and year-end close operations • Oversee accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems for GAAP, regulatory, donor, and policy compliance • Maintain and monitor project budgets and prepare/process project invoices • Investigate project variances and submit monthly variance reports to management • Report remaining project funding and cost overruns/under-budget status to the Senior Manager and program leads • Prepare and process accurate, timely wire transfers to country offices and projects • Prepare the annual FFATA submission and obtain required sub-awardee information • Provide input into departmental policies, procedures, and protocols • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, annual, donor, and ad hoc financial reports and analysis • Support long-range financial forecasting and monitor program performance against revenue and expenditure targets • Prepare grant and donor invoices and track receivable/liability positions • Support audit activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls • Train staff on finance and accounting procedures • Maintain confidentiality and promote a positive, supportive work environment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field • 6–10 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in a nonprofit environment • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and GAAP • Expert knowledge of USG rules and regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), especially Subpart 31.7, and 2 CFR 200 • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills • Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools • Experience with cradle-to-grave project/donor finances, particularly USG finances • Experience with budgeting, project cost management, account reconciliation, financial reporting, data interpretation, and donor reporting requirements • Experience working with varied work styles and under pressure while meeting deadlines • Ability to translate complex financial concepts to finance and non-finance managers • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required • Preferred: nonprofit, federal, and/or state experience, particularly in a fast-growing, resource-constrained environment • Preferred: experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and QuickBooks • French, Portuguese, and/or Spanish speaking preferred
