📋 Description

• Lead and develop a product engineering team, including hiring, onboarding, mentorship, performance, and career growth • Own delivery from planning through release and follow-through • Break work into milestones, manage dependencies, surface risks, and make realistic commitments • Set priorities with product, design, and engineering leadership • Connect engineering work to customer needs and business outcomes • Make trade-offs between new features, reliability, and technical debt • Review pull requests, debug production issues, write code and prototypes, and stay close to the codebase • Drive architecture and implementation decisions with technical leads and senior engineers • Use AI tools and agentic workflows for planning, development, testing, triage, and reporting • Uphold engineering standards across design and code review, automated testing, performance, security, and maintainability • Own operational health through monitoring, safe rollouts, incident response, and on-call ownership • Collaborate with product teams and shared platform teams to resolve dependencies • Keep priorities, progress, risks, and decisions visible using evidence to improve execution and outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building production software, including substantial time as a hands-on senior engineer • 2+ years managing an engineering team • Comfortable working in a modern production codebase such as TypeScript, Node.js, or React • Track record of delivering customer-facing SaaS products or services, including reliability, maintenance, and customer outcomes • Experience hiring, coaching, developing engineers, managing performance, and supporting career growth • Deep technical judgment and experience leading architecture discussions and evaluating trade-offs • Experience partnering with product and design to define priorities, scope work, and deliver milestones • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools and agentic workflows to improve engineering work, with attention to correctness, security, and review • Comfort working through ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information • Clear communication and effective cross-functional collaboration • Daily fluency with AI tools in personal workflow • Preferred: recent meaningful code contributions as a manager • Preferred: experience managing frontend and backend engineers or multiple technical disciplines • Preferred: experience building and operating software at scale, including performance, reliability, safe migrations, and incident management • Preferred: experience in a fast-moving product organization • Preferred: experience introducing AI-native or agent-driven workflows to an engineering team • Preferred: experience building collaboration, productivity, or workflow software for individual and enterprise users • Preferred: experience leading distributed teams across time zones
