📋 Description

• Maintain and reconcile inventory records for environmental commodities (carbon credits, RECs, and related instruments) across multiple registries and platforms • Process inventory transactions including acquisitions, retirements, and transfers with accuracy and timeliness • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including inventory subledger reconciliation to the general ledger • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP • Support internal and external audit requests related to inventory • Identify and flag discrepancies, working cross-functionally with Operations and commercial teams to resolve • Assist in developing and improving inventory tracking procedures and controls • Generate inventory reports and summaries for Finance leadership as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 0–2 years of accounting or finance experience; internship experience welcomed • Foundational understanding of GAAP accounting principles • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or accounting systems a plus • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment • Intellectual curiosity and interest in sustainability, carbon markets, or environmental finance • Exposure to environmental commodities, carbon registries (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard, APX), or financial services a plus • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms a plus • CPA candidate or intention to pursue CPA licensure a plus.
