📋 Description

• Conduct accessibility audits and design reviews of single-page applications, components, and content across VA.gov • Identify non-compliant patterns and provide clear remediation guidance • Advise VFS teams on accessible coding practices and design system fixes • Help teams prepare for VA 508 office audits and translate audit feedback into actionable work items • Provide accessibility strategy to VA VFS teams to support successful accessible deliverables • Audit and remediate non-web document formats, including PDFs, Microsoft Office files, and Google Docs • Work with internal and external technical stakeholders, vendors, partners, third-party providers, and government accessibility offices • Complete Coforma and VA onboarding and secure required system permissions • Learn VFS team workflows, VA.gov design system standards, VA GitHub, and ADE project priorities • Shadow the team lead, observe user research sessions, and take on initial audit tickets • Audit Figma designs for inclusive standards and implementation • Advise VFS developers on coding, bug fixes, and VA 508 office audit preparation • Prepare transition documentation and track recurring problem areas for project hand-off

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with 3 or more years directly supporting accessibility standards • Strong expertise with Section 508 laws, WCAG 2.2 AA, and ADA • Fluency with assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, ZoomText, and Dragon Naturally Speaking • Knowledge of HTML5, Web Standards, and compatibility issues affecting assistive technology use with common enterprise systems • Familiarity with testing devices such as iPhone, Android phones, and JAWS • Familiarity with document remediation and testing tools such as Adobe Acrobat, CommonLook PDF, and PAC 2026 • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, anticipate challenges, and adapt to changing situations • Applicants must currently reside in Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, or Wisconsin • Some travel may be required
