📋 Description

• Preserve and improve the quality and validity of AP Program exams, course curricula, and professional development content • Lead assessment development and final approval of items and forms across AP Art History and History-Social Science • Author, review, revise, and manage formative and summative assessment content and scoring materials • Use generative AI appropriately to author and review assessment content • Train and collaborate with subject-matter experts, including college professors and secondary school teachers • Translate between academic experts and psychometricians • Develop assessment forms aligned with approved curricula and test specifications • Lead face-to-face, weekend, and virtual Test Development Committee meetings • Plan agendas, adapt meeting approaches, and resolve post-meeting content edits • Train and supervise Test Development Committee members • Lead annual in-person and online AP Reading scoring events • Plan and execute AP Reading workflows and post-Reading activities • Produce AP Reading publications for teachers and students • Contribute to assessment research and best practices • Provide functional leadership for cross-subject assessment workstreams • Train and mentor Course Experts in assessment development and committee facilitation • Develop task models, item-development training, and assessment processes • Improve question task models and exam design with AP leadership • Monitor exam validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and reader reliability • Lead initiatives to improve assessment quality and establish fair, reliable, and valid cut scores with psychometrics staff • Refine the AP Art History and History-Social Science Course Framework • Collaborate on new AP products, prototypes, market testing, and instructional resources • Present, speak, and moderate dialogue with academic and membership audiences as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in Art History or a directly related discipline required • Doctorate in the discipline strongly preferred • At least 10 years of experience in standardized assessment development or related work • Expertise in Art History and History-Social Science • Knowledge of current trends in Art History • Experience with digital assessment and teaching preferred • Strong oral and written communication skills • Solid technical proficiency • Customer-focused mindset • Excellent organizational and planning skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain close attention to detail, including proofreading • Demonstrated ability to implement processes and procedures, manage project plans and schedules, and maintain tracking documentation • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills • Ability to work effectively across all levels and engage in constructive feedback • Ability to travel 6-8 times per year, plus up to two additional weeks for the AP Reading • Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, willingness to adopt AI-driven solutions, and ability to learn and apply new digital tools independently • Clear and concise written and verbal communication • Learner’s mindset and commitment to growth • Drive for impact and excellence • Collaborative and empathetic approach
