📋 Description

• Own balance sheet reconciliations for cash, receivables, inventory and work in progress, rental fleet and fixed assets, prepaids, payables, accruals, debt, and clearing accounts • Investigate aged differences, duplicate or missing transactions, incorrect coding, and unmatched bank activity • Prepare supported correcting entries and track open items through resolution • Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, depreciation, rollforwards, cutoff adjustments, and U.S. GAAP financial statements • Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger and explain significant financial movements • Own audit PBC request tracking and prepare supporting schedules • Respond to auditor inquiries and document accounting conclusions for unusual transactions and estimates • Manage general ledger accounting and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets • Coach staff and review work for accuracy and completeness • Oversee accounting for container sales, rentals, modifications, inventory costing, overhead absorption, depreciation, disposals, and transfers • Partner with operations, collections, legal, internal stakeholders, and external auditors • Maintain accounting policies, approval controls, and segregation of duties • Support compliance reporting, cash and working capital analysis, budgeting, and forecasting • Prepare and review borrowing base certificates and collateral schedules • Prepare and reconcile sales and use tax schedules, filings, payments, exemption certificates, and filing support • Use NetSuite transaction records, GL impact, saved searches, and financial reports to investigate and reconcile balances • Standardize reconciliation workpapers and audit files; improve workflows and automation • Partner on NetSuite configurations, integrations, and data integrity

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership and hands-on ownership of close and reconciliations • Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and financial statement preparation and review experience with U.S.-based companies • Experience preparing audit PBC schedules, answering auditor inquiries, and resolving historical accounting differences with supported entries • Proven hands-on NetSuite experience in journal entries, transaction research, GL analysis, saved searches, reporting, and subledger reconciliation • Working knowledge and practical exposure to borrowing base certificate reporting, lender eligibility calculations, and supporting collateral schedules • Experience with sales and use tax preparation, reconciliation, and filing • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliation of large transaction datasets • Organized, detail-oriented, clear communicator, and reliable against deadlines • Availability to work PST schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM • Working experience as an independent contractor/freelancer
