Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Manage and provide instructional guidance, virtual teaching, and general strategies for a caseload of students • Develop, write, and help implement IEPs and 504 plans • Evaluate tests and assessments, complete report cards, and conduct parent conferences • Communicate regularly with parents and learning coaches to ensure IEP goals are met • Consult with teachers and coordinate specially designed instruction for students with specific needs • Provide direct services through web-conferencing software as needed • Schedule, organize, and conduct IEP-related meetings virtually • Participate in the school’s Student Support Team • Help teachers and learning coaches develop and implement program modifications and strategies • Assist with IEP paperwork, documentation, and procedures • Locate service providers and assist with service-provider contracts • Maintain accurate data in the Learning Management System and special education software • Assist with state testing and coordinate IEP-required special adaptations • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Special Education or related Education field • Valid Special Education credential in Kansas • Experience with IDEA policy and/or Special Education administration • Strong technology skills, especially Microsoft Office products and Google Suite • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Customer-focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Team-player track record • Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, potentially overnight • Ability to use a personal electronic device and email address for two-step authentication
