Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Deliver specially designed instruction to students with special needs • Manage instructional programs for a caseload of students requiring direct and/or indirect services • Provide virtual teaching, instructional guidance, and general strategies • Develop, write, implement, and monitor IEPs and 504 plans • Monitor student progress, complete report cards, and conduct parent conferences • Communicate with IEP team members, parents/learning coaches, related service providers, and school staff • Provide direct services through web-conferencing software as needed • Schedule, organize, and conduct IEP-related meetings virtually • Participate in the school's Student Support Team • Help teachers and learning coaches develop and implement program modifications and strategies • Assist with IEP paperwork, documentation, procedures, and coordination of related service providers • Maintain accurate data in the Learning Management System and special education software • Assist with state testing and coordinate IEP-required special adaptations • Travel for marketing, state testing, and other school events as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field • Valid Oregon PK-12 Special Education certificate • Successful background checks or clearances, including the Child Abuse History Clearance • Experience in policy (IDEA) and/or administration with Special Education • Strong technology skills, especially Microsoft Office and Google Suite • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Highly organized and punctual • Customer-centric mindset • High degree of flexibility and agility • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Team-player track record • Willingness to travel for marketing, state testing, and other school events, possibly requiring occasional overnight travel • Ability to effectively work remotely • Ability to use a personal electronic device and email address for two-step authentication
