Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Provide high quality speech language services to assigned K-12 students enrolled in Connections Academy virtual public schools • Plan and implement individual and group therapy in a virtual environment • Use webcams, web conferencing software, the company's online Education Management System, and special education software to manage caseload and records • Follow assigned school and state-specific policies and procedures for implementing LiveSpeech services • Maintain positive working relationships with the LiveSpeech team, schools, and programs served • Review and analyze reports to maintain compliance • Communicate with leadership, school staff, parents, and learning coaches • Document therapeutic interventions and progress reports thoroughly and on time • Meet biweekly with the supervisor • Conduct screenings and formal and informal evaluations of students' communication needs • Ensure students' IEP goals and needs are addressed appropriately and promptly • Consult with teachers and coordinate specially designed instruction under students' IEPs • Provide special education case management for select students whose only special education need is speech therapy • Schedule, organize, and conduct virtual IEP-related meetings as needed • Assist with paperwork, documentation, and procedures for the IEP process • Maintain accurate and current data in the Education Management System and secondary IEP systems • Adhere to data protection and security laws and company policies • Obtain and maintain required licenses and clearances • Complete assigned professional development, training, and CEU courses • Complete additional duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• MA or MS in Speech Language Pathology • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence • Active/valid state and/or Department of Education licensure in Speech Pathology in the state of residence • Ability to obtain and maintain multiple required state certifications and clearances • 2+ years of experience in a K-12 school setting • Strong technology skills • High degree of flexibility and ability to work independently • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Ability to use a personal electronic device and email address for two-step authentication • Appropriate means to work remotely, including compliance with home-office privacy, technology, and equipment standards • Mouse and keyboard provided by the employee when working from home
