📋 Description

• Lead CDI's communications strategy and narrative • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to the Executive Director and Chief Growth Officer • Own CDI's messaging guide and narrative framework • Elevate CDI's executive and thought leadership profile • Drive proactive media outreach to national, higher education, and mission-aligned press • Provide editorial leadership for CDI's higher education newsletter and blog • Build and lead the communications team

🎯 Requirements

• 10–12 years of experience in strategic communications, or PR • Established connections across national, higher education, and mission-aligned press • Proven track record protecting organizational reputation in politically sensitive environments • Strong writing and editing skills in producing long-form thought leadership and executive communications • Comfortable executing with speed, rigor, and attention to detail while building for scale • Experience establishing or significantly evolving a communications function • Proven ability to coordinate editorial and campaign work across teams • Deeply motivated by CDI's mission, with political awareness to communicate constructively
