📋 Description

• Design, engineer and document installed physical security and life safety solutions of moderate to higher complexity • Communicate proactively with colleagues, vendors, consultants and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) • Identify cost-effective solutions meeting customer requirements and project schedules • Provide design or drawing assistance during development and as-built stages • Obtain electronic plans and design drawings from engineers, architects, owners, and contractors • Create engineered drawings using AutoCAD and related tools • Prepare record drawings and O&M manuals • Maintain project design, documentation and submittal standards • Review product specifications, applications and electrical requirements for code and AHJ compliance • Participate in internal design reviews, project turnover meetings, site surveys and walkthroughs • Provide project documentation, programming graphics and material purchases • Obtain and facilitate project permits • Communicate design progress, completion dates, scope revisions and associated costs to Project Managers • Perform authorized change-order work and assist with change-order pricing • Prepare and revise submittal packages for approval • Provide operational support during the sales phase when needed • Train and provide work direction to other designers • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• College degree, trade school or equivalent experience • 3-5 years engineering, field service or design project management experience • 3+ years AutoCAD experience • Excellent Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Experience in one or more of: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, and/or healthcare (preferred, not required) • Ability to apply intermediate and advanced drafting techniques • Knowledge of practical, electrical and fabrication problems • Knowledge of industry standards and codes • Ability to meet code and AHJ requirements
