📋 Description

• Serve as in-house legal subject matter expert and partner with the executive team on product legal strategy and execution • Advise on privacy, data, AI, compliance, commercial contracts, customer security requirements, and scalable legal support • Build practical, repeatable systems for responding to privacy questions, especially those related to Subscriber Signals • Develop deep knowledge of Kit, SparkLoop, Subscriber Signals, and the connected creator ecosystem • Report to the Chief Operating Officer and partner with product, sales, finance, and people operations leaders • Own core legal work in-house and determine when specialized outside counsel is needed • Review legal agreements, privacy questions, and customer security requests • Assess legal risk, opportunity, ambiguity, and recurring work for improved efficiency • Map active data processing, privacy, AI, and other legal initiatives • Design scalable privacy intake, guidance, and escalation systems • Own GDPR and data compliance vetting • Establish processes for responding to customer security questionnaires • Serve as go-to legal partner for product, engineering, security, and go-to-market teams • Build playbooks, templates, intake processes, and self-service guidance for recurring legal questions • Partner throughout the product lifecycle on initiatives and feature releases • Prioritize legal risks, reduce reliance on outside counsel, and streamline legal workflows • Improve legal maturity across privacy, compliance, product counsel, commercial contracts, and security support

🎯 Requirements

• Deep expertise in data, compliance, and product • Strong ability to navigate U.S. and European data privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA • Familiarity with data controller vs. processor distinctions • Ability to translate privacy and compliance requirements into scalable playbooks, templates, intake processes, and self-service guidance • Experience supporting customer security questionnaires • Experience partnering with security, sales, product, and engineering teams • Familiarity with SOC 2 Type II and associated legal, privacy, and customer requirements • Understanding of intellectual property law related to brand, content, and software • Understanding of commercial contracts • Clear communication and trusted-advisor capability • Experience as in-house counsel at a technology company or serving a technology portfolio at a top-tier startup-focused firm • J.D. from an accredited law school in the United States • Active membership in good standing of a State Bar Association • Ability to work from the United States • Legal authorization to work in the country of residence • Must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
