📋 Description

• Serve as in-house legal subject matter expert and partner with the executive team on product legal strategy and execution • Advise on privacy, data, AI, compliance, commercial contracts, customer security requirements, and scalable legal support • Develop practical, repeatable systems for responding to privacy questions, particularly for Subscriber Signals • Build understanding of Kit, SparkLoop, Subscriber Signals, and the connected ecosystem of products and tools • Report to the Chief Operating Officer and partner with product, sales, finance, people operations, security, engineering, and other teams • Own core legal work in-house and determine when specialized outside counsel is needed • Review legal agreements, privacy questions, and customer security requests • Map data processing, privacy, AI, and other legal initiatives and upcoming needs • Own GDPR and data compliance vetting • Establish processes for responding to customer security questionnaires • Build playbooks, templates, intake processes, and self-service guidance for recurring privacy, data-use, and compliance questions • Partner throughout the product lifecycle on initiatives and feature releases • Prioritize legal risks, reduce reliance on outside counsel, and streamline legal workflows • Establish durable systems supporting privacy, compliance, product counsel, commercial contracts, and security support

🎯 Requirements

• Deep expertise in data, compliance, and product • Strong ability to navigate U.S. and European data privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA • Familiarity with data controller vs. processor distinctions • Ability to translate privacy and compliance requirements into scalable playbooks, templates, intake processes, and self-service guidance • Experience supporting customer security questionnaires and partnering with security, sales, product, and engineering teams • Familiarity with SOC 2 Type II and related legal, privacy, and customer requirements • Understanding of intellectual property law, especially brand, content, and software • Understanding of commercial contracts • Experience as in-house counsel at a tech company or serving a tech portfolio at a top-tier startup-focused firm • J.D. from an accredited law school in the United States • Active member in good standing of a State Bar Association
