📋 Description

• Assist the Controller for the external audit, independently managing auditor requests, PBC lists and timelines • Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation, and resolve auditor questions and findings • Assist in driving readiness for future audits • Own or assist with the Controller in preparing ASC 606 revenue recognition memos, including contract review, policy memos and judgment areas • Lead accounting for inventory, including costing, reserves and cycle counts • Lead accounting for equity, including ASC 718 stock-based compensation and cap table reconciliation • Research and document positions on new or complex transactions • Perform Maker and/or Checker responsibilities during month-end and quarter-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations and flux analysis • Design, document and test internal controls, and remediate audit-identified gaps • Improve close processes, policies and systems as the company scales • Own end-to-end payroll in Rippling, including processing, reconciliations, journal entries, tax filings and compliance • Provide backup coverage for customer invoicing and build documentation for functional continuity • Mentor and review staff accountants, including team members in other locations • Support the Controller on budgeting, ad hoc analysis and special projects

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA (active) • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong hands-on responsibility, including 2+ years in a Big 4 public accounting firm • Hands-on experience leading or supporting a first-year or initial financial statement audit • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, especially ASC 606 (revenue), ASC 330 (inventory) and ASC 718 (stock compensation) • Track record of managing auditor relationships and resolving findings independently • Strong close, reconciliation and internal controls experience • Hands-on experience managing payroll, including multi-state payroll tax compliance
