📋 Description

• Review AI-generated Japanese translations against English source content • Correct errors, omissions, unnatural phrasing, and inconsistent terminology • Restructure sentences and passages for clarity and suitability for Japanese learners • Preserve technical meaning, learning objectives, assignment requirements, quiz meaning, answer options, and feedback • Edit and check lessons and assessments directly in Codio while preserving formatting and structure • Apply and update Japanese style guides and glossaries in consultation with the team • Flag unclear or ambiguous English source content and consult subject matter experts on technical meaning and terminology • Provide concise feedback on recurring translation issues • Manage assigned work independently, communicate progress and questions, and meet agreed deadlines

🎯 Requirements

• Professional experience in English-to-Japanese translation and substantive Japanese editing, including rewriting for clarity, flow, and audience needs • Excellent written Japanese and strong English reading comprehension • Ability to recognize differences in English and Japanese writing conventions • Ability to explain editorial decisions and preserve source meaning while adapting structure and phrasing • Experience applying style guides and glossaries, researching terminology, and identifying issues requiring clarification • Ability to critically review AI-generated translations and take responsibility for final Japanese content quality • Ability to learn Codio and work directly in an online content platform • Ability to work remotely and independently for approximately 10–15 hours per week, with reliable written communication • Resume and examples of English-to-Japanese editorial adaptation required for application • English source and Japanese before-and-after versions should be included where permitted, with confidential information removed or permission to share confirmed
