📋 Description

• Evaluate hospitalizations across the country using medical knowledge as an expert advisor to client hospitals • Perform concurrent clinical case reviews and provide recommendations focused on appropriate admission status • Utilize clinical expertise to identify salient points within case reviews • Perform focused real-time and post-discharge case reviews in the hospital’s EMR • Identify process improvements and inefficiencies • Interact with attending physicians at client hospitals through secure messaging, text, and potential phone calls • Potentially participate in special projects, focus groups, new Medical Director training, or organizational committees • Support hospital clients with guidance to improve compliance and ensure appropriate payment for care delivered

🎯 Requirements

• MD or DO degree • Active unrestricted medical license in at least one state within the United States • Specialization in Adult Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, Nephrology, General Surgery, or Infectious Disease • Board certification preferred • Minimum 1 year of post-residency acute-care adult hospital experience in a US hospital within the past 5 years, or recent relevant physician advisor experience • Working knowledge of hospital EMR systems • Computer proficiency • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Team-player orientation • Ability to work a minimum set 18–25 hours per week on evening schedules • Ability to work the required schedule, potentially Thursday through Saturday starting at 4 p.m. ET • Ability to perform computer-based work for 6–8 hours a day and sit for prolonged periods • Infrequent ability to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs.
