📋 Description

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve commercial property claims • Develop and implement strategies to resolve moderate- to high-severity and complex commercial property claims • Handle claim volume as needed • Collaborate with cross-functional Coterie team members on process, product, project, insurance, and enterprise initiatives • Investigate claims and review insured materials, documents, and reports • Identify and assess coverage issues • Draft coverage position letters • Retain coverage counsel when necessary and review counsel opinions and analyses • Develop strategies for coverage issues aligned with overall claim-handling strategy • Analyze coverage and damages to estimate, assess, and recommend reserves • Maintain claim diaries and post reserves in a timely manner • Respond to inquiries from insureds, counsel, underwriters, brokers, and senior management • Negotiate claim resolutions • Direct risk transfer, subrogation, additional insured, and contractual indemnity issues • Prepare and present written and oral reports to senior management on claim evaluation issues and reserve recommendations

🎯 Requirements

• Ability to work core hours Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm in your time zone; additional off-hours may be needed • 5+ years of work experience at an insurance company and/or insurance claims loss adjustment service provider resolving property and casualty claims • Considerable working knowledge of insurance industry and claims operations, particularly commercial property and casualty claims • Knowledge of policy construction and ISO Commercial BOP forms • Proper adjuster licensing in all applicable states • Knowledge of legal concepts and processes • Exceptional written and verbal communication, influencing, evaluation, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills • Strong time management and organizational skills • Ability to participate in active strategic discussions • Excellent collaboration skills; self-motivated and willing to take initiative • Ability to synthesize day-to-day work into trends, themes, successes, and opportunities over time • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities • Exceptional interpersonal and client service skills • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment • Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Office • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship • College degree preferred • AIC and PTC designations a plus
