📋 Description

• Perform detailed contract compliance audits for construction and capital projects • Assess compliance with AIA billing standards, GMP/CMAR contract terms, unit-price schedules, cost-plus arrangements, and negotiated allowances • Validate general conditions, general requirements, subcontractor, developer, and landlord billed costs • Identify cost recoveries, billing errors, non-allowable charges, and process improvement opportunities • Apply AIA billing formats including G702, G703, and continuation sheets to identify anomalies or unsupported values • Support construction project insurance audits and validate contractually allowable insurance costs • Perform subcontract audits covering T&M validations, change orders, negotiated buyouts, and back-charge review • Conduct job-cost reconciliations of committed costs, actuals, payments, and cost-to-complete details • Verify developer and landlord costs, including land acquisition, soft costs, carrying costs, lease costs, tenant improvement allowances, and pass-through expenditures • Conduct monthly pay application reviews, including percent complete, stored materials, retainage, and subcontractor flow-down compliance • Support construction procurement and bid analysis, including bid leveling, scope-gap identification, and alternate pricing • Audit material purchases and subcontractor billings for procurement and pricing compliance • Assess buyout savings, material escalations, equipment rentals, and service procurements • Communicate audit results to internal, client, and supplier personnel • Draft and issue audit reports summarizing activities, findings, and recoveries • Present and support audit claims clearly, concisely, and persuasively • Manage multiple audit engagements and advance projects toward timely completion • Delegate, train, and quality-check work performed by other auditors • Participate in and lead team knowledge sharing on contract interpretation, audit techniques, and cost-control practices • Implement self-check and peer-review practices to maintain accurate, consistent work products • Maintain detailed documentation and proper use of Cotiviti tools and construction audit software • Ensure compliance with Cotiviti policies, confidentiality requirements, data-security standards, and relevant industry standards

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Construction Management and/or Business Administration or related field required • Certified Construction Auditor (CCA) preferred • CFE, PE, CCM, or PMP are pluses • 5+ years of hands-on experience in construction auditing, construction project management or project engineering • Experience auditing AIA-format billings, GMP and CMAR contracts, job-cost structures, tenant improvement projects, data centers, distribution centers, or large capital portfolios preferred • Experience reviewing insurance costs, subcontracts, cost-plus agreements, change orders, or developer/landlord cost submissions preferred • Experience conducting completed project audits and monthly pay application reviews • Exposure to bidding processes and bid leveling, and how bids translate into contract risk and audit focus areas, is a plus • Experience supporting claim negotiation or legal counsel in disputes or arbitration preparation is a plus • Strong project management skills required • May require travel up to 20% • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and repeat hand motions in computer-based work • Ability to visit active job sites safely, including adherence to site-specific safety and PPE requirements • Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area • Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance
