📋 Description

• Work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Threat Research • Work closely with cybersecurity subject-matter experts to understand analyst workflows and security operations procedures • Post-train LLMs and agents using supervised fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, policy optimization, and reward modeling • Devise AI agents and combine them into increasingly complex workflows involving planning, reasoning, tool and function calling, retrieval, and memory • Research new approaches to agentic planning and prototype state-of-the-art methods from the literature • Establish objective benchmarking criteria for agentic systems, including evals, LLM-as-judge pipelines, and trajectory-level metrics • Optimize prompts and inference for model performance • Collaborate across Engineering, Data Science, and Managed Services teams • Partner with engineers to move prototypes toward production • Track developments in artificial intelligence and identify, define, and prioritize research areas

🎯 Requirements

• Excellent foundations in machine learning, probability, and statistics • PhD-level depth in modern machine learning research; a doctorate is not required when equivalent mastery is demonstrated • Experience training generative models and strong command of LLM training fundamentals • Reinforcement learning and post-training expertise, including RLHF/RLAIF, PPO/GRPO/DPO, reward modeling, and RL environments • Experience building agentic systems, including ReAct, planning, reflection, tool and function calling, retrieval, memory, and context management • Experience with systematic prompt optimization and designing and building LLM evaluations • Fluency with GPUs, PyTorch, and LLM training and serving stacks such as Hugging Face Transformers/TRL/PEFT, DeepSpeed/FSDP, and vLLM/TGI/SGLang • Strong, reproducible research engineering skills with clean Python and disciplined experiment tracking • Ability to work independently on ambiguous and complex objectives and communicate clearly within a large project team • Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes • Bonus: experience with synthetic data, agent trajectories/rollouts, task simulators, inference-time scaling, agent safety and guardrails, interpretability, failure analysis, open-source contributions, and technical writing • Passion for cybersecurity or applying machine-learning skills to cybersecurity; security background is a plus, not a requirement
