📋 Description

• Coach, manage, and develop a team of Core Literacy Specialists • Conduct co-observations and calibration sessions to ensure consistent, high-quality pilot delivery • Partner with the Senior Manager, Curriculum & Instruction on staffing, workload balancing, and capacity planning • Onboard and train new Core Literacy Specialists • Serve as the first escalation point for complex district relationships or instructional challenges • Participate in interviewing and hiring decisions • Carry an active caseload of pilots and deliver professional learning • Facilitate pilot orientations and professional learning on program design, instructional routines, resources, and implementation expectations • Differentiate professional learning according to educator experience, grade level, pilot context, and district needs • Tailor consultation to the competitive landscape and district evaluation context • Build relationships with teachers, coaches, school leaders, and district leaders • Provide consultation on lesson planning, pacing, instructional routines, and program resources • Demonstrate lessons and instructional routines, followed by reflective discussion • Conduct classroom walkthroughs and discuss pilot progress with educators and leaders • Help teams problem-solve implementation challenges • Aggregate team-wide insights and communicate patterns, successes, and challenges to Curriculum & Instruction leadership • Engage Impact Specialists, National Directors, and subject-matter experts when deeper support is needed • Support districts transitioning from pilot to adoption and installation • Inform implementation planning, professional learning, and instructional expectations • Surface barriers and unresolved questions before broader implementation • Support handoff from the pilot team to ongoing implementation teams • Participate in continuing literacy, curriculum, instruction, adult learning, product, facilitation, leadership-development, and instructional training • Travel up to 65%, including overnight travel

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in education with a strong focus on literacy instruction • Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, or managing other adult professionals, ideally in a remote or field-based setting • Prior people-management experience preferred • Demonstrated successful classroom teaching experience in literacy; experience teaching with a comprehensive core literacy program strongly preferred • Experience providing professional learning, coaching, or instructional support to teachers and/or school leaders • Experience supporting curriculum implementation and/or participating in a curriculum pilot or adoption preferred • Demonstrated effectiveness working cross-functionally, building relationships with remote teams, and working with a broad range of stakeholders • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, English language arts, or related field required • Advanced degree in literacy, curriculum and instruction, or related field preferred • Deep knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction and current best practices in reading and writing • Strong knowledge of elementary literacy instruction and comprehensive core literacy program implementation • Exceptional facilitation skills and ability to engage adult learners in meaningful professional learning • Strong classroom presence and ability to confidently model lessons and instructional practices with students • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop other consultants with direct, actionable, growth-oriented feedback • Experience balancing client-facing delivery with team leadership and management responsibilities • Ability to make staffing, workload, and capacity-planning decisions across multiple pilots, consultants, and territories • Ability to observe classroom instruction and professional learning delivery, recognize patterns, and communicate insights clearly • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage teams, pilots, stakeholder relationships, schedules, and competing priorities • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Comfort using digital tools and data • Ability to embody and model CA culture tenets
