📋 Description

• Serve as the principal physician leader for Aetna’s member-facing clinical AI portfolio • Develop and advance the clinical AI product roadmap, including sourcing and evaluating AI-enabled tools, scoping use cases, defining requirements, measurement plans, and scaling pilots • Establish clinical acceptability and vendor review criteria for AI tools • Define clinical performance measures and monitoring plans for model drift, guideline changes, and emerging risks • Identify and mitigate automation risks including bias, access inequities, and unintended harm • Provide clinical leadership for member-facing omni-channel digital outreach campaigns • Advise Aetna Digital on the Aetna Health app roadmap and feature development • Embed AI into clinical workflows to extend the impact of care managers, nurses, and other clinical staff • Design and evaluate AI-augmented workflows and support clinician adoption through guidance, training, and workflow integration • Monitor the digital health, clinical AI, and health technology landscape • Represent Commercial Medical Affairs in governance forums, steering committees, and cross-functional groups • Contribute to employer client engagement, RFP responses, and external thought leadership • Translate clinical requirements and technical tradeoffs across clinical, technical, product, and business stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) • Active and current medical license without encumbrances in at least one U.S. state • Board Certification including Maintenance of Certification in an ABMS specialty • Minimum 5 years of work experience in health care technology, digital health, managed care, or equivalent, with meaningful exposure to clinical product development or clinical AI • Hands-on experience with AI/ML applications in health care, including generative AI, NLP, predictive modeling, or clinical decision support • Understanding of clinical, ethical, and regulatory considerations for health care AI/ML • Ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate clinical requirements into technology solutions • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to work virtually with occasional travel for in-person meetings, up to 15% • Preferred: 10+ years of combined clinical and health technology, digital health, or managed care experience • Preferred: Experience sourcing, evaluating, and/or implementing digital health or clinical AI solutions • Preferred: Familiarity with health plan operations, utilization management, care management, and commercial/employer line-of-business dynamics • Preferred: Experience with AI governance, quality and safety frameworks, or responsible AI programs • Preferred: Thought leadership through publications, conference presentations, advisory roles, or industry engagement
