📋 Description

• Oversee administration, monitoring, and maintenance of the private cloud platform • Administer VMware ESXi and vSphere environments, including vCenter, vSAN, VxRail, VMware Cloud Foundation, and NSX as applicable • Provision, configure, and decommission virtual machines, templates, and resource pools • Execute lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, firmware updates, and hardware updates • Manage backup, replication, disaster recovery, and recovery testing across sites • Collaborate with data center, network, storage, and cross-functional teams on infrastructure integration, scalability, and hardware refresh projects • Provide Level 3 support for critical incidents and perform root cause analysis • Participate in 24x7 on-call support for outages and critical incidents • Liaise with vendor partners on advanced solutions • Automate routine tasks using scripting and automation tools • Support private cloud orchestration and self-service provisioning tools • Maintain accurate ServiceNow incident, problem, change, and CMDB records • Partner with automation teams to integrate ServiceNow, Ansible, SCOM, vSphere, Satellite, and related systems • Implement security and compliance practices, including HIPAA requirements • Conduct vulnerability assessments and apply patches, updates, and system hardening • Monitor performance, resource utilization, capacity, and future infrastructure requirements • Perform tuning and identify self-healing and proactive remediation opportunities • Maintain platform documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, procedures, and policies • Share knowledge with and mentor junior team members • Communicate with internal stakeholders, provide technical guidance, manage expectations, and document expertise during critical outages

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years experience in systems, infrastructure, or virtualization operations • In-depth knowledge of private cloud technologies, particularly VMware vSphere/ESXi and hyper-converged platforms such as vSAN and VxRail • Exposure to VMware Cloud Foundation, Nutanix, Hyper-V, or OpenShift • Experience managing virtualized environments • Experience working in an on-call, 24x7 environment • Proficiency in Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and Group Policy • Linux familiarity • Strong understanding of data center networking, including VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and load balancing • Knowledge of enterprise storage, including SAN, vSAN, HCI, and software-defined storage • Working knowledge of ITIL practices, including incident, problem, and change management, preferably using ServiceNow • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • High school diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience as an alternative to a bachelor’s degree
