• Process release of information, specifically medical record requests, accurately and efficiently • Receive and process requests for patient health information according to company and facility policies • Safeguard patient privacy and maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information in compliance with HIPAA • Retrieve, scan, copy, assemble, and digitize medical records • Prepare new patient charts and ensure records are accurate, complete, and in standard order • Respond to internal and external requests for patient records and transmit them appropriately • Document information across multiple platforms using two computer monitors • Answer inbound and outbound calls • Assist patient walk-ins, faxes, mail handling, data entry, and pickup scheduling as needed • Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software • Inform the manager of work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes • Lead daily team huddles and act in a lead role for staff questions • Train HIS I staff, new hires, and associates, including shadowing and developmental training • Generate reports for the manager or facility • Meet or exceed level 1 productivity expectations and company productivity standards • Participate in project teams and committees advancing operational strategies and initiatives • Perform other duties as assigned
• High School Diploma or GED • Must be 18 years of age or older • Ability to commute between locations as needed • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required • 1-year Health Information related experience • Meets and/or exceeds Company's Productivity Standards • Basic computer proficiency • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment on a regular basis • Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language • Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records • Strong data entry skills • Must be able to work with minimum supervision responding to changing priorities and role needs • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks • Able to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment • Full Time: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-4:00 pm CST, with potential overtime, evenings, or weekends as required • Proficient in Microsoft office (including Word and Excel) • Post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations may be required by clients • This job is not eligible for employment sponsorship
