📋 Description

• Process release-of-information requests and medical record requests accurately and efficiently • Safeguard patient privacy and ensure releases comply with authorizations, company policy, and HIPAA regulations • Receive and process patient health information according to company and facility policies • Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information • Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software • Inform the manager about work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes • Manage patient health records and ensure compliance with HIPAA standards • Prepare new patient charts using paper and electronic health record sources • Assemble medical records in standard order and verify accuracy and completeness • Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical records • Retrieve and appropriately transmit patient records to internal and external requesters • Answer inbound and outbound calls and provide medical record status • Assist with patient walk-ins • Handle faxes, mail, data entry, and pickup scheduling as needed • Meet site-specific productivity expectations • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED • Ability to commute between locations as needed • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required • Basic computer proficiency • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment on a regular basis • Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language • Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records • Strong data entry skills • Must be able to work with minimum supervision responding to changing priorities and role needs • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks • Able to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment • This job is not eligible for employment sponsorship • Experience in a healthcare environment is a bonus • Previous production/metric-based work experience is a bonus • In-person customer service experience is a bonus • Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers is a bonus • Comfortable bringing new ideas, process improvement suggestions, and feedback to internal stakeholders is a bonus
