📋 Description

• Process release of information and medical record requests accurately and efficiently • Take inbound and outbound calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys to provide medical record status • Receive and process requests for patient health information according to company and facility policies • Maintain confidentiality, security, and HIPAA compliance for privileged patient information • Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software • Inform manager of work, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes • Manage patient health records and safeguard records against unauthorized disclosure • Prepare new patient charts and gather documents from paper sources and/or electronic health records • Assemble medical records in standard order and ensure they are accurate and complete • Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical records • Retrieve and appropriately transmit patient records to internal and external requesters • Assist with patient walk-ins, faxes, mail, data entry, and pickup scheduling as needed • Assist with training, mentoring, onboarding, coverage, and professional development of associates • Generate reports for managers or facilities • Participate in project teams and committees • Assist with Quality Assurance tasks • Lead training sessions and support staff development • Inform senior leadership of issues, opportunities, and challenges • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED • Must be 18 years of age or older • Ability to commute between locations as needed • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required • 1-year Health Information related experience • Basic computer proficiency • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment on a regular basis • Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language • Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records • Strong data entry skills • Must be able to work with minimum supervision responding to changing priorities and role needs • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks • Able to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment • Presentation skills for small group settings • Forward thinking and ability to problem solve • This job is not eligible for employment sponsorship
