📋 Description

• Initiate investigations of new claims • Make liability and coverage decisions • Evaluate and negotiate settlements for collision, specified perils, and property damage claims • Manage and oversee outside adjusters, appraisers, and experts • Establish contact with insureds and claimants within established protocols • Identify coverage issues and escalate them to the supervisor • Develop understanding of liability and coverage principles • Apply state-specific laws and claims regulations throughout the United States • Research market values for automobiles and heavy equipment and recommend total-loss settlement values using state valuation methods • Summarize claims and recommend disposition for claims exceeding individual settlement authority • Respond to intercompany arbitration hearings and department of insurance complaints • Manage a diary system to review and resolve claims within state compliance guidelines • Maintain state license through continuing education and/or work toward a claims designation • Handle small claim suits as needed • Perform other duties assigned by the claims supervisor

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required • 3-5 years Property Claims experience • Experience with Lloyd’s of London is considered an asset • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Experience with Xactimate • Able to be licensed in states, countries where necessary • AIC designation preferred • Must pass a background check • Strong writing skills and proper use of grammar • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to plan and exercise conscious control over time spent on activities • Ability to multi-task and handle high volume of concurrent tasks • Ability to work collaboratively with others inside and outside the company
